Jaco Coetzee
COO

Jaco is the COO of smartadvance South Africa and Director of GetSure (Pty) Ltd with more than 10 years’ experience in Senior Management. Prior to joining MyBucks, Jaco has held various Senior Management positions in Virgin Active. Jaco holds a BCom HR degree and is in the process of completing his Masters in Labour Law.

Manuel René Koser

Manuel is a serial entrepreneur with deep e-commerce experience. He co-founded and managed a number of e-commerce businesses such as Jumia, Nigeria’s largest e-commerce company and Zando, South Africa’s largest e-commerce fashion retailer which has 200+ employees, 20K+ products from over 500+ brands, its own warehouse, and multiple payment methods. Manuel started his career in 2005 as an intern at Inverto AG, one of the leading procurement consultancy firms in Germany, where after he took on an internship at Arthur D. Little in Germany, followed by an internship at The Boston Consulting Group. He was appointed as Vice President Corporate Development & Investments of the Altira Group in 2010, an Entrepreneurial Asset Management Company with a focus on future-oriented growth markets where he was focussed on investment, private equity and project financing of German mid-cap companies, renewables & natural resources as well as opportunities in Africa. In 2015, he was appointed director and board member of Conversio, an all-in-one marketing dashboard for an e-commerce store in the UK. Prior to joining Get Bucks, Manuel founded Silvertree Holdings, “Africa's Disruptive Brand Builder" invested in a portfolio of 12 brands, with an operational platform providing seed capital and support to the entrepreneurs to supercharge scale. Manuel holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business from the University of Maastricht, Netherlands.

Matshidiso Bonolo Modise

Matsi is a global thought leader on entrepreneurship. She has contributed to entrepreneurship in South Africa by leading advocacy teams, that have impacted the policy landscape by driving traction for tax incentives for venture capital companies and by successfully lobbying the South African government to lift intellectual property (IP) exchange control and the loop structure hurdles innovation policy in South Africa. She is a member of the South African Bureau of Standards innovation management committee and a weekly guest on Radio 2000. Matsi has written for and has been featured in numerous local and international publications, including Forbes Africa, Small Business Connect, Entrepreneur Magazine, The Boston Review, Mail & Guardian, Succeed Magazine, Destiny Magazine, The New Age newspaper, Business Day, City Press and recently Venture Burn. Matsi represents a number of companies and/or funds as a board, trustee and board advisor. Matsi has received various global awards for her participation in the entrepreneurship and development space. Her most recent global recognition includes the role of keynote speaker at the Oxford Business Forum Africa 2018, hosted by the Oxford Saïd Business School in the United Kingdom, she is a founding curator of the World Economic Forum (WEF) global shapers community and was selected by the WEF as one of the Top 50 Global Shapers to attend the WEF Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland representing South Africa. Matsi started her career at Investec Bank Limited in 2008. From 2012 to 2015, she was the managing director of the South African Black Entrepreneurs Forum (SABEF), an industry association that created entrepreneurship ecosystems in South African townships, rural and peri-urban areas. Matsi joined SiMODiSA, an industry association focussed on SMMEs in South Africa in 2015 as the Vice Chairman. She is the founder and CEO of Furaha Afrika Holdings, a Pan–African Holdings Company dedicated to enable and leverage growth across the African continent. Matsi holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Marketing & Advanced Management from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Tamuka Mpofu

Tamuka is a strong believer in innovation through technology having spearheaded implementation of several e-platforms to improve efficiency. He has deep experience in the finance sector. He completed his articles with KPMG Chartered Accountants, Zimbabwe with a specialty in Banking & Financial Services. Tameka was an Audit Manager with MooreStephens International before joining GetBucks Microfinance Bank Limited (the Zimbabwe-based Get Bucks subsidiary) as its Head of Internal Audit. He joined MBC Holdings Limited, a bank holding company, as Group Finance Manager where he focuses on financial reporting and management. Tamuka Mpofu holds a BCompt from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and a post-graduate CTA (Certified Theory in Accounting) Level 1 from UNISA with emphasis on Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Audit and Taxation. He is a Certified Expert in Microfinance with the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

Nicolette Michelle Swartz

Nicky spent over 20 years in advertising and marketing in SA and the UK, with a special focus on financial services. During this time, She spent 7 years as Managing Director of ad agency TBWA Cape Town which provided sound understanding and experience in general management and 5 years as Head of Marketing between Sanlam and 10X Investments. Nicky has a particular appreciation for the role of finance as a lever for social transformation which lead to the foundation of Spoon Money, which advocates the view that serious economic development starts with two essential ingredients; savings rather than consumption, and capacity-building credit. Nicky holds a degree with English and Psychology majors (UNISA) and a post-grad BSc Hons degree in Digital Technology (Dublin Institute of Technology).

Geoffrey Ferrier | Insurance Executive

Geoffrey currently fulfils the roles of Business Development Manager, Operations Manager and Key Individual at Getsure (Pty) Ltd where he heads up the insurance team in South Africa. He has a 13 year record of achievement and has demonstrated success in Business Development, Sales and Management within the financial services industry since 2007. Prior to joining GetSure in 2018 Geoffrey served in various positions including, Director/Debt Counsellor - Confiance Debt Counsellors, Regional Manager - African Bank Limited and Branch Manager at African Bank Limited.

Astrid Meyer | Marketing & Distribution Executive

Astrid is an experienced Group Brand Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry. She brings a broad set of skills across Digital Strategy, Online Advertising, Advertising, Account Management, and Brand Management. Prior to her current role as the Head of Marketing and Distribution for the smartadvance Group, Astrid was the Marketing Manager responsible for a range of geographies in the MyBucks group.

Janine Hancock | Human Capital Executive

Janine has been with the company for 4 years. She has previous experience in sales, customer service and her role as a PA allowed her the opportunity to begin her journey with smartadvance. In this time she has had the privilege to grow with the company, which led her to the position of Head of Human Resources where her people skills and willingness to assist others is beneficial to the employees. She strives to bring the team together to create unity, resulting in customer satisfaction.

Yudre Casling | Head of Collections

Yudre is the Head of Collection for smartadvance South Africa with 18 years of experience in Collections, Debt Review and Operations in the financial services and retail industry. Prior to joining smartadvance, Yudre worked  at Homechoice, Truworths, First National Bank (FNB), Transaction Capital Recoveries Services(TCRS), Nedbank and African Bank in various collections and recoveries roles.  Yudre brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the team, building strong working relationships and finding solutions to challenges.

Mologadi Lehong | Head of Customer Experience

Mologadi Is the head of Customer Experience which includes Customer service, Sales and Complaints and resolution teams. She has over 12 years’ experience in the call centre industry which includes customer care, sales and quality assurance in telecommunications, medical insurance, and micro loans. Prior to joining smartadvance Mologadi held several positions in Customer care at Oneplan health insurance, Multichoice and MTN. Mologadi brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in the call centre environment and is passionate about providing high quality client experience.

Marika Calitz | Head of Internal Audit

Marika is the Head of Internal Audit at Get Bucks S.A., She obtained her B.Com. Financial Accounting and B.Com (Hon.) Internal Auditing degrees from the University of Pretoria and is also a Certified Internal Auditor and accredited by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in performing external quality assessments.  Marika has more than 18 years of operational and technical knowledge and experience of corporate governance, risk management and internal auditing practices, including two experience of in-house risk management & internal auditing. and currently smartadvance, and 16 years of risk consulting and outsourced / co-sourced internal auditing while employed by KPMG Services (Pty) Ltd. Marika is innovative in finding bespoke solutions for her clients' unique business challenges and developing young talent to do the same.

Inge van Graan | Head of Legal & Corp Secretarial

Inge is an admitted attorney with extensive, practical experience in cross-border corporate and commercial legal transactions and corporate governance. Inge started her professional career in 2011 at a niche law firm specialising in corporate and commercial law. Thereafter Inge joined BDO South Africa in 2012 as a legal technical consultant in the corporate governance and secretarial department providing legal, compliance, governance, and secretarial services to a wide variety of clients, JSE listed companies, local and international corporate firms, as well as internal legal assistance and support to the group nationally.
Inge joined the smartadvance Group in 2017 and was appointed in 2020 as the Head of Legal for smartadvance South Africa.
Inge holds LLB, BCom (Law) and BCom (Hons) Business Management Degrees, all from the University of Pretoria, and was admitted as an attorney in 2011.
